Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to the SipLingo — Learn German app, available on iOS and Android. SipLingo ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This page explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Information We Collect

The app collects the following types of data:

• Account data: Email address and password (stored securely).
• Learning data: Proficiency level, language preferences, XP, streaks, and session history.
• Voice input: Streamed in real time during speaking practice to generate a transcript. Audio is not permanently stored.
• Usage data: App interactions and session activity, collected via Firebase Analytics.

Third-Party Services

We use industry-standard third-party services to operate and improve SipLingo. These providers may collect data according to their own privacy policies:

• Firebase Analytics (Google LLC): Used on both iOS and Android to monitor app usage and performance.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC): Used to send practice reminders and notifications. You can manage these in your device settings.
• Gemini Live API (Google LLC): Powers real-time voice conversation during practice sessions.
• Claude API (Anthropic, PBC): Processes conversation transcripts server-side to generate personalised feedback.
• RevenueCat: Used solely to manage and validate subscriptions and control access to premium features.

AI Content Processing

SipLingo uses two AI services to deliver its core features. Voice input is processed via the Gemini Live API for real-time conversation. After each session, the conversation transcript is sent to the Claude API to generate your feedback summary. Data sent to these services is not linked to personally identifiable information and is used only to provide the requested functionality.

Subscription Management

Subscriptions are handled securely by the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We do not store or process payment information. RevenueCat is used only to validate purchases and manage access to premium features.

Account and Data Deletion

We respect your control over your personal data. You can delete your account and all associated personal information at any time directly within the app by navigating to Settings > Remove Account.

Alternatively, you can request account deletion by contacting our support team at support@siplingo.com. Upon receiving your request, we will permanently delete your account, learning history, and any associated data from our servers within a reasonable timeframe.

Children's Privacy

SipLingo is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided such information, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the date above.
